May flowers & Books for Sale

The March and April showers brought poor weather for our book sale.  In spite of it all, book lovers came and purchased over $700 for the F.O.O.Ls.  Now flowers are blooming by the front door and we have a BOOKS FOR SALE shelf, sponsored by F.O.O.Ls!  When loading up excess books to drive to worthy organizations, a lightbulb went on above the heads of hard working volunteers.  Why not offer some good leftovers to folks?  The project is working well.  Every few weeks new items are put out for sale.  The money generated is helping purchase summer reading books and prizes for young readers.  So…”come on down”

Library Friends awarded FOKL grant

The FOOLs were awarded a Friends of Kansas Challenge grant for $500. Sales from the annual book sale more than matched that amount-over $1,000! The FOOLs are continuing to raise money with a “Get your foot in the Library” fundraiser. For every $10 dollars a person donates, they will have a cutout of a foot with their name on it in the window. All this income is to finance the new carpeting in the library.
